
CASC Held “Water Pump Unit Condition Diagnosis System R&D” Evaluation Meeting
CASC held the evaluation meeting for “Water Pump Unit Condition Diagnosis System R&D”- a technological innovation R&D project, on 22 March 2018 in Shanghai. The meeting was presided by CASC and the evaluation expert panel comprised of experts from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai SMI Water (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Water Planning, Design and Research Institute, Shanghai Aerospace Precision Machinery Research Institute, AVIC SAMRI and Shanghai Aerospace Control Technology Institute. Relevant personnel from 6th Institute Marketing Management Dept. and 801st Institute Development Dept. also attended the evaluation meeting.
At first in the meeting, Li Xiaofang, the person in charge of technology presented a comprehensive and detailed report on the project background, completion of audit index, development of the project, final financial performance and prospect of core technology application. Having heard the report and upon inquiry and discussion, all experts had the view that the project was ready for acceptance in content of study, technical index, form of results and final financial performance.
The project well completed the verification of eight types of accident mode: motor phase-phase short-circuit, motor 3-phase current balance, misalignment of coupler angles, coupler parallel misalignment, pump antifriction bearing defect, pump impeller imbalance, reverse operation of pump and failure to form vacuum at pump inlet. Having test run by four water works and one pump station under Shanghai SMI Water (Group) Co., Ltd., the pump has the following performance: average false alarm rate is 0.03 time/day under normal working condition, average alarm rate is 99.25% under fault condition and average diagnosis precision is 90% under fault condition.
The system developed under the project is good for pump unit safe operation. It improves water supply security and thus has good prospect of market application.
